Director Sameer Karnik says, "Preity took a lot of effort to fit into the role. She learnt the local language. She even went to a village to observe the behaviour of the local women. Just watch, this is going to be Preity's best performance till date!"
This is not where Preity's lessons ended though. She was required to ride a tractor and Salman Khan (plays a sardar in the movie) readily came forward to teach her the same. According to the unit members Salman was co-operation personified as Preity expressed her inability to drive the tractor. Even though he had no prior experience himself, he managed to learn it and then taught it to Preity.
Sameer recalls, "We were worried if Preity would be able to drive the tractor. I kept a few guys around her so that they would jump in to stop the tractor in case of an emergency. There was a scene where Salman is walking on the fields and she is on the tractor. I feared she would run the tractor over his legs. However, my fears were baseless because Salman guided her properly and we managed to get a great shot."
Salman and Preity, who come together in Heroes again, have an interesting history. The two were seen together a few years back in the much controversial Chori Chori Chupke Chupke. After that, a tabloid carried stories of Salman discussing Preity in a derogatory manner in a leaked tape. Later, it was realised that the tapes were fake.
Preity stood by Salman throughout this episode. Later, the duo was seen together in the Shirish Kunder film, Jaan-E-Mann. Heroes also includes Deol brothers-Sunny and Bobby. Preity was unavailable for comment as she is currently holidaying in an undisclosed destination.
